About Us · On the ground since 2015

A real opportunity is stronger than pity

Take A Chance is a licensed Jordanian non-profit, registered with the Ministry of Industry and Trade. We build people and empower them as human capital so they can become active, productive members of their communities — because a dignified person does not need pity so much as a real opportunity.

Our story

From a grassroots journey… to a social entrepreneurship organization

We work to advance the Sustainable Development Goals: from helping reduce poverty, to promoting fairness in the distribution of opportunities between the sexes, to the economic and social empowerment of the less fortunate — by designing and delivering high-quality, sustainable projects and programs grounded in social entrepreneurship.

The organization was founded in 2019 after a journey of fieldwork that began in 2015, rooted in our belief that every dignified person deserves a real opportunity that empowers them to build their own future with dignity, independence and broad choices.

Our journey

Milestones that made an impact

2015

The grassroots beginning

We started with hands-on volunteer work alongside orphaned children — Ramadan iftars, clothing drives and seasonal events — and that is where our deepest insights were born.

2019

Founding the organization

We turned the experience into a licensed social entrepreneurship organization, with a sustainable empowerment model that accompanies people over the long term instead of offering seasonal attention.

Today

A widening impact

A system of programs (Empowerment · Training · Networking) that has improved the quality of life of more than 220 young people, embraced 180 families, and trained 900 volunteers.

Why Take A Chance?

The prevailing approach deepens the wound of orphanhood… and we break it

We observed that seasonal initiatives come and go without leaving any real impact, and that the orphaned child became tied to the image of someone who receives charity rather than someone who creates impact. So our real question began:

؟

Why do we deepen the wound of orphanhood instead of easing it?

؟

Why don't we dream of a greater future for this child?

؟

Why should they feel like a source of pity rather than a source of pride and achievement?

We don't give handouts… we create opportunities

Opportunities that help a person see themselves differently, and believe in their worth and their ability to create real impact — because the true starting point is for a person to know themselves and the potential within them.

Our vision

To institutionalize social entrepreneurship in order to build a more just and sustainable future through empowerment.
