Take a Chance for Sustainable Development achieved international recognition by winning Third Place in the Bevol Global Volunteer Competition among 140 initiatives from 51 countries, reflecting the excellence of Jordanian initiatives in youth empowerment, volunteerism, and sustainable development.
A New Achievement for Jordanian Youth and Volunteer Initiatives
In a remarkable achievement for Jordanian youth and volunteer initiatives, the Jordanian initiative and non-profit company Take a Chance for Sustainable Development was awarded Third Place in the Bevol Global Competition, an international competition dedicated to promoting volunteerism.
The initiative earned this distinction among 140 initiatives representing 51 countries worldwide, successfully advancing through all stages of the competition to reach the final round and secure third place.
The winners were announced during the First Bevol International Conference on Volunteerism, held virtually on 9–10 July 2021. The final evaluation combined public voting with the assessment of an international jury comprising distinguished experts and academics from Canada, Australia, Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, and Kuwait.
Take a Chance is a Jordanian non-profit company licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The organization is committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing poverty, promoting social and economic empowerment, and expanding opportunities for disadvantaged communities across Jordan.
Since its establishment more than five years ago, the organization has achieved significant milestones, including:
Graduating 100 children from the Joodkom Program over three consecutive seasons.
Delivering more than 150 life-skills workshops for children led by specialized trainers.
Supporting children in designing and developing 20 engineering projects and innovations.
Enabling 30 children to successfully complete the first level of the Young Genius Program.
Guiding children in establishing 20 community-based volunteer and empowerment initiatives in underserved areas across Jordan.
Organizing educational visits to 150 public and private institutions, allowing children to explore different professions and learn about successful organizations.
Training and preparing 100 volunteers to implement sustainable community development and volunteer initiatives using an institutional approach.
Bevol is an independent global platform dedicated to promoting a culture of volunteerism and strengthening social responsibility. Through innovative digital solutions, the platform connects volunteers with organizations and community stakeholders, fostering collaboration while promoting humanitarian values, peace, and sustainable development worldwide.
The Bevol platform is also available to volunteers in Jordan through its local representative, the Bab Al-Khair Association for Volunteering, which works to strengthen social welfare and community development by connecting skilled volunteers with organizations that can benefit from their expertise, while promoting and institutionalizing the culture of volunteerism throughout Jordan.
